Nova

So, obviously I like books.

Books with two men (or sometimes more).

You know what I mean. ;)

SPOILER ALERT!

Unhinge the Universe by Aleksandr Voinov, L.A. Witt

Unhinge the Universe - Aleksandr Voinov, L.A. Witt

4.75 - 5 stars.

Huh, I guess I’m now a fan of Voinov & Witt writing together.

What should I say? It was gripping, emotional, suspense-packed and so damn realistic!
At times it was strange, reading about all these “familiar things”, names or places and I’m still surprised how much I liked this book. A few years ago I wouldn’t have touched it. Now? I’m looking forward to the next ones! Loved it. :)

My only niggle: I would have like the ending a tiny bit more without the sex scene or if the book had ended with John coming for Hagen after he was released.

The Sentinel by Eden Winters

The Sentinel - Eden Winters

3 - 3.5 stars

The Lion and the Crow by Eli Easton

The Lion and the Crow - Eli Easton

Another LHNB story (with a great cover) I really liked! :)

Nothing's Missing Now by Westbrooke Jameson

Nothing's Missing Now - Westbrooke Jameson

Short but really good!

Nor Iron Bars a Cage by Kaje Harper

Nor Iron Bars a Cage - Kaje Harper

3.5 stars.

SPOILER ALERT!

City of Soldiers by Sam Burke

City of Soldiers - Sam Burke

4 - 4.5 stars.

City of Soldiers isn’t your typical love story, but it’s refreshingly different with realistic and charming characters I really liked! Especially Roman! :)

There’s a good mystery part mixed with a little bit fantasy and lots of questions and riddles that kept me up till 4 am last night because I wanted to solve them. *lol* Who is the murderer? What is Delphi and would it work out between Sean and Roman?

I actually really liked it that all four – Michael, Kristian, Roman and Sean – had some kind of “weird” relationship together!

I really liked that I wasn’t 100% sure, how this story would end and I enjoyed every minute of it! The ending itself was very fitting, at least for me. Still, I can see why some readers might be a bit disappointed, because of the slightly unusual ending/romance.

Now all I need is a sequel, because I would love to know more about all four of them! :)

Crescendo by Rachel Haimowitz

Crescendo - Rachel Haimowitz

4.25 stars.

Counterpoint by Rachel Haimowitz

Counterpoint - Rachel Haimowitz

3.75 stars.

Prisoner 374215 by Angel Martinez

Prisoner 374215 - Angel Martinez

4.25 stars

Backwoods Asylum by Megan Derr

Backwoods Asylum - Megan Derr

3.25 stars

Dark Space by Lisa Henry

Dark Space - Lisa Henry

Dark Space sounded like a book I could really like – and I did!

Alien technology (don’t worry, there’s no talk about techno stuff) an emotional story (the last chapters!) and two main characters I really liked, made this story nearly perfect for me. What I missed was a little bit more background info about the Faceless and their culture or about the world in general.

Cartoon Logic by Andrea Speed

Cartoon Logic - Andrea Speed

2.5 - 3 stars

SPOILER ALERT!

Intercession by Pepper Espinoza

Intercession - Pepper Espinoza

3.5 – 4 stars.

First of all, I’m not sure I like the ending.

I loved that David got a second chance, but somehow I liked him so much more when he was still a vampire… And the cliffhanger? ARGH!

(show spoiler)

But it was a really nice and entertaining book with action, angels and vampires. ♥
Now I need the sequel!

Angels of the Deep by Kirby Crow

Angels of the Deep - Kirby Crow

Two days after finishing this book, I still don’t know what to say, except that I really enjoyed it and I’m still surprised how very much I loved it.

Angels of the Deep isn’t perfect, but it’s so different, imaginative and captivating, that a lot of other authors in our genre could learn a thing or two – I definitely want to read more books like this one!

Light the Fire by JL Merrow

Light the Fire - JL Merrow

2.5 stars.

Bullheaded by Catt Ford

Bullheaded - Catt Ford

A great book with a realistic story (even though I know nothing about bull fighting – it all made sense to me) and characters I loved. There were parts I liked more than others, but that doesn’t change the fact, that I really enjoyed this book! I would even love a sequel!
